ABOUT US:

The Bruceville - Eddy Emergency Medical Services is a team made up of 75% volunteers
with more waiting and ready for training. We became a non-profit organization with a 501(c)
3 in 1999. We are governed under the State of Texas Department of Health with Mike
Foegelle as our Regional Director, Dr. David Morgan from Scott & White Hospital as our
Medical Director and we are members of the Heart of Texas Regional Advisory Committee
with Dr. Raja Ghandi as our Advisory Director.

Bruceville- Eddy is located eighteen miles south of Waco, Texas on Interstate 35. Our
Service area covers approximately 15,000 citizens including our rural community and the
surrounding communties, of that 15,000 citizens 65% are elderly.

The first meeting to discuss an Emergency Medical Service was in late 1982. By March
1983, sixteen Bruceville - Eddy volunteers had passed the Emergency Care Attendants
course. From support and donations from community of Bruceville - Eddy we were able to
purchase a well equipped ambulance to serve the health care needs of the community
located twenty-five miles to the closest medical facility. Our EMS volunteers with continued
education are all Certified Emergency Medical Technicians. The community still continues to
help support the Bruceville - Eddy EMS with funds from our annual Mayfest event,
fundraiser events, donations and memorials.
